About Allison

Allison Pirrie- Mawer is a watercolour artist based in Ahipara, New Zealand. Born in Liverpool, England, she emigrated to Muriwai, Auckland in 2000.

Her paintings are inspired by the diverse New Zealand landscape, from the Wild Westcoast seascapes just outside her artist cabin window to the craggy peaks of the South Island.     

Her work is a contemporary interpretation of the landscape, often depicting abstract parts of it in a unique and vibrant colour palette. Her favourite subjects are mountain landscapes and seascapes during sunrise and sunset influenced by her travels home and abroad.
